FOR LEGAL TEAMS & INSURERS
Expert witness services.
Independent expert evidence in industrial accident matters — for civil and criminal proceedings, inquests, regulatory hearings, and international arbitration. Written reports and oral testimony backed by four decades of field experience and a publication record in the discipline.
When surface findings will not stand up
In serious incidents, the difference between a defensible position and an indefensible one is often a single question: did the investigation reach the actual cause, or did it stop at the obvious one?Opposing counsel, regulators and coroners are increasingly sophisticated. A report that confuses the immediate cause with the root cause — or that misses the organisational factors that made the incident foreseeable — rarely survives cross-examination.
Dr Sundborg provides independent expert evidence in industrial accident matters where the technical depth and forensic rigour of the investigation will determine the outcome. His reports are written to the standards of CPR Part 35 in England and Wales and the equivalent procedural rules in other jurisdictions, and his oral evidence has been given in matters across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America.

How instructions work
Initial conversations are confidential and without obligation. Where it is helpful, Dr Sundborg will provide an early indicative view on the technical merits of a matter before formal instruction. Formal terms of engagement, scope of work and fee basis are confirmed in writing at the point of instruction.
Availability is necessarily limited. Solicitors and insurers should make contact at the earliest practical point in a matter — particularly where site inspection, evidence preservation, or witness interviews need to happen in the days immediately following an incident.
